(Babar Azam, Pakistan ultimate batter has suffered a significant drop in his test ranking position. Rizwan on the other hand has clinched a few above in the latest rankings of test provided on Wednesday.)

Pakistan lost by 10 wickets in the first Test of the two-match series, their first-ever Test match defeat against Bangladesh. This heart-breaking  loss has caused Pakistan’s players’ ICC Test rankings to decline.

Babar Azam was out a form and gave a disappointing performance against Bangladesh after scoring 0 in first inning and 22 in the second inning.

Babar Azam dropped six positions from 3rd to 9th in the ranking and is just six points above Mohammad Rizwan, his team fellow.

However, the wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan saw a significant rise in the ICC Test Rankings because of his 171 not out and 51 scores.

Because of his outstanding performance, Rizwan has risen seven spots to reach his career-high ranking. This is his first appearance in the top 10. With 728 rating points, he is tied for tenth place with Usman Khawaja of Australia.

Pakistan vice captain Saud Shakeel gave an impressive knock of 141 in the first inning which was crucial as well. But this was followed by a duck in the second innings. This resulted in his rise of only one spot to 13th in ranking.

Meanwhile, Shaheen Shah Afridi, after playing poorly in the first Test match against Bangladesh, fell two spots to tenth place. His figures of first inning were 2-88.

Pakistan senior batter Abdullah Shafique also fell 3 places in ranking due to his poor performance and is now standing at 34th place. He has scored a total of 39 in the both innings.

On the other hand, Mushfiqur Rahim  of Bangladesh climbed seven places to reach his career-best 17th, the reward of his great 191-run knock.
